About Us

Dan and Patsy Lennox moved from Mount Isa to Cape York in 1990 along with their family and quickly fell in love with the Cape, making it their new home.

Beginning with a furniture store in Weipa, they later moved to Seisia where they opened the 'Seisia Campground'. Further on in New Mapoon they opened 'Cape York Ice and Tackle' and the 'New Mapoon General Store', while at the same time securing the land lease to build Loyalty Beach Campground from scratch.

Between Patsy and Dan they have opened up many employment opportunities for the local community & have aimed to help build the tourism infrastructure in the place they love so dearly.

Loyalty Beach Campground officially opened in 2001, and to this day it is a place that is respectful of the Capes wildlife, people and environment.

With a passion for the Cape and its people Patsy says she "wouldn't live anywhere else" and that she loves how the campground is kept.

Located a short 45 minutes from the northernmost tip of Australia, Loyalty Beach Campground & Fishing Lodge is situated on 13 acres of spectacular beachfront, including 11 acres of open bush camping.

The campground is lush with wildlife and during your stay you may spot palm cockatoos, green tree frogs, dingoes, kangaroos, green tree snakes, pythons, wild horses, crocodiles or the beautiful Ulysses Butterfly. (Just to name a few!)

Loyalty Beach uses town water and power supplies, so all water on site is drinkable and ready for use.

Our restaurant and bar operates 7 days a week with the perfect sunset views to top off another  incredible day on the Cape!
